Employment Tribunal Compensation Limit Changes

From 1st February 2012, new maximum limits will be applied to some awards in Employment Tribunals and other areas of employment law.
Some of the changes to be introduced are:

  • The limit on the amount of compensation for unfair dismissal will increase from £68,400 to £72,300
  • The maximum limit of “a week’s pay” used in the calculation of a redundancy payment or for other awards including the basic or additional award of compensation for an unfair dismissal will be £430, increased from £400.
  • Award for unlawful inducement relating to trade union membership or activities, or for unlawful inducement relating to collective bargaining will rise from £3,300 to £3,500
