Young Enterprise Company Programme 2014/2015
An event at Chesterfield College yesterday evening kicked off the Young Enterprise Company Programme 2014/2015 year.
We are pleased to be supporting the Programme for a second year, with three of our staff acting as Business Advisers to a team of students from Newbold Community School in Chesterfield.
The Young Enterprise Company Programme gives students a rewarding, practical introduction to the world of work. With guidance, students learn what is involved in running a business by running their own. Over a period of several months, they will experience a variety of roles, including management, sales, finance, marketing and administration.
Last year, the team BRM advised formed a company named Jessant, which produced and sold hand-decorated photo frames. The team did exceptionally well, with their efforts leading them to the North Derbyshire Area Final, where they also picked up an award for Best Company Report.
The event yesterday gave this year’s Newbold team an overview of what Young Enterprise is all about and the possibilities for them.
We are sure the event sparked some ideas for their business, and we can’t wait to find out what they have come up with and where that idea will take them over the next few months.
